Waterloo Recreation Area has over 26 miles of horse trails! A variety of terrain, scenery, and miles of trails is what makes Waterloo one of the most majestic places to ride in Michigan.
Some trails will take you over rolling hills to the highest elevation in lower Michigan. This view is priceless. Update: This area has been approved by the DNR to be a picnic area. The brush will be removed and the view will be even more beautiful! The types of trails vary from gravel to sand, open fields, stands of pines and hardwoods.

The wildlife is abundant in the area. Whitetail deer, turkey, pheasant, sand hill crane, fox, coyote and assorted other birds and mammals make their home here. Throughout the year the wildflowers paint the landscape with their beauty and color.
A fun destination for many is the Baldwin Creek crossing. You can tie your horse to the hitching post, sit at the picnic tables and enjoy lunch with friends before continuing your ride. A great resting spot for you and your horse!
Waterloo is a great place to meet new friends!
Thank You to the Waterloo Hunt Club for their help in cleaning/maintaining the trails!
